You can drop off your unused prescription medication 365 days a year at the following locations:

Elk Grove Village
Police department

Hours: Open 24/7

  • The Elk Grove Village PD has a prescription drug collection box in the lobby.

  • Residents may bring in their unwanted medications at any time, no questions asked.​

Mount Prospect: Public Works

Hours: Monday through Friday: 7:30 AM to 5 PM

  • Accessible and open to the general public.

  • Substances need to be in original containers with labels.

  • Narcotics, liquids, and/or syringes will NOT be accepted.

Mount Prospect: Walgreens

Proper disposal of unneeded or expired medication can prevent prescription drug misuse and accidental poisonings. It can also protect the environment.
