LGBTQ+ Center Grand Opening is a success!

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

On October 11, Kenneth Young Center hosted the grand opening of the LGBTQ+ Teen & Young Adult Center to much fanfare.

The event was a huge success and we hope to keep the momentum going. The purpose for our LGBTQ+ Center is a way for teens and young adults to express themselves freely.

Some LGBTQ+ individuals who attend are not out or able to express themselves in every area of their lives so the center gives them a safe place to be themselves.

The idea is for teens and young adults to come and enjoy activities such as creative arts, movie or board game nights, yoga/meditation, community service activities, learning about inclusive positive healthy behaviors, and opportunities to collaborate on leadership activities. These activities were designed with the feedback provided by the LGBTQ+ therapeutic group that was conducted at the Kenneth Young Center. We hope that you all can join us or come by to see the center if you haven't already.
