National Prevention Week- Substance Use Prevention            

Presented by: Local Youth Advisory Councils

All ages welcome

Join local youth living in Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Palatine and Elk Grove, Illinois, as they discuss some of the substances mostly used by teens today and how the stay-at-home order has made it for worse or better. Substances include: alcohol, opioids, marijuana, and vaping. The youth will end the week with suicide prevention, motivational stories, and what you can do to reach out to others during the pandemic.

Week TWO

Life During and After Quarantine- The Burden on our Mental Health         

Presented by: Local Youth Advisory Councils

All ages welcome

Stress, depression, anxiety and other mental health barriers that challenge many youth and adults during a pandemic can be difficult. Youth will share their perspective about quarantine, how to stay busy, finding healthy coping strategies, and sharing local resources. Join us for a week of positivity!

Dating Violence and Healthy Relationships

How has quarantine and staying more at home affected those in unhealthy relationships? Stalking or harassment via text or feeds, more anonymity on social media, etc. can contribute to an unhealthy relationship. Learn more on what resources are available and tips on how to build healthy relationships.
