Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi introduced a new anti-bullying bill on December 2nd.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2019

It calls for the establishment of anti-bullying task forces to study, address, and reduce bullying in primary and secondary schools. It specifically addresses bullying of LGBTQ students.

The purpose of the December 2nd event was two-fold. First to introduce the bill. Second, and more importantly, to provide an opportunity to raise awareness and visibility of the pervasiveness of bullying in primary as well as secondary schools. All community members were invited to attend!

The format was a kin to a press conference with the Congressman, youth and LGBTQ advocates, educators, students, and others speaking about the importance of addressing bullying and harassment in school. We were delighted to all who participated.

The event took place on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 9:30a – 10:30a at the Kenneth Young Center’s LGBTQ+ Center located at 650 E. Algonquin Rd., Suite 104, Schaumburg, IL 60173.
